Scheduling Scholarship Auditions
The following is a list of scholarships currently given to Carson-Newman music students. Many music students receive music scholarships in addition to any other financial awards. You must audition for a scholarship to be eligible to receive one.

If you have ANY interest in possibly studying music at Carson-Newman College you should fill out a audition form (step 6). Most students accepted into the music department receive a music scholarship, but they must audition for a scholarship to do so.
Frequently asked questions
Q. Who is eligible for a music scholarship?
A. Scholarships are available to music majors based upon their performing abilities demonstrated in an audition. There are Band scholarships for non-music majors participating in the instrumental program.
Q. When can I audition?
A. You can come to campus on special Showcase Saturdays scheduled in the Fall and Spring. Please call the music department at (865) 471-3328 for specific dates.
Q. If I can’t be there on those weekends, what then?
A. Call or write for a special appointment. Contact Dr. Clark Measels, (865) 471-3328, Carson-Newman College, Box 72048, Jefferson City, TN 37760, cmeasels@cn.edu. If coming to campus is difficult or impossible, you may want to video and/or audio tape an audition.
Q. If needed, will an accompanist be provided?
A. Yes, but make sure to let us know ahead of time.
Q. Who will hear my audition?
A. Faculty members in your performing area.
Q. Are taped accompaniments acceptable?
A. No
