Visiting Instructor of English

Carson-Newman College invites applicants for a one-year (nine-month contract) visiting instructor position in English with a specialty in developmental writing and composition to begin August 2010 in the School of Humanities, Department of English.

Candidates for the position may be ABD, but a Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Composition is preferred, and must have significant teaching experience and evidence of effective student-centered teaching.  Responsibilities include a 4/4 teaching load with developmental writing and composition courses. Applicants must have an active and serious faith commitment compatible with the mission of a Baptist college.
