"We Care because We Can"

We are an organization for Carson-Newman graduate and undergraduate students interested in education. Our purpose is to Build a community of students interested in becoming educators around the world, finding ways to share information and support each other while studying at Carson-Newman; Encourage present and future Carson-Newman students who haven't decided on a career to explore teaching as a way to serve others; Assist the faculty in providing information about the education program at Carson-Newman so that all students have the information they need to successfully complete course work and gain teacher licensure at graduation; Provide opportunities for members to grow as provessionals through special sponsored programs; and Serve the community by developing and implementing service projects related to education and recruiting future educators from diverse populations.

Best Buddies

Best Buddies of Carson-Newman establishes friendships between college students and adults in the community with disabilities. The students involved in Best Buddies have an opportunity to be matched with a very special person for the entire year. The chapter holds one to two group activities each month for all the buddy matches to enjoy together. Throughout the year, the buddy pairs become the best of friends and develop a trusting, supportive friendship that will last a lifetime.
