Dr. Bolton began teaching in the graduate nursing program in 1997. She teaches course in both the family nurse practitioner and the nurse educator track. She has been a women’s healthcare nurse practitioner since 1991 and is certified by the National Credentialing Center as a women’s health nurse practitioner. She currently practices in collaboration with an OB/GYN physician in Knoxville once a week. Her research interests include women’s health and domestic violence.
Dr. Bolton lives in Knoxville with her husband and her son. She enjoys working in her garden, relaxing outdoors, and spending time with family.

Greg Casalenuovo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Nursing and Behavioral Health. He received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He earned the Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He came to Carson-Newman after working as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Diabetes Management. Additionally, Dr. Casalenuovo has worked as a staff nurse and manager in the areas of critical care, cardiovascular, surgical, and emergency nursing. His teaching areas include pathophysiology, medical-surgical nursing, critical care nursing, nursing research, professional issues, and statistics.

Dr. B.J. Ellington joined Carson-Newman College in 2004. She is an Associate Professor of Nursing in the MSN, Family Nurse Practitioner Program. She earned her BSN from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, MSN/FNP from Vanderbilt University, and DNP in Forensic Nursing from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Her practice experiences as a nurse practitioner include rural health, inner-city health, private practice, AIDS Vaccine research, and HIV/AIDS patient care. As an Advanced Practice Forensic Nurse, she has worked with law enforcement, the District Attorney General’s Office, and the Office of the State Medical Examiner investigating cases involving human injury and death. Research interests include sequelae to childhood sexual abuse manifested in adult survivors – primarily dissociative identity disorder (DID), child/infant death investigation, and protocol development to enhance conviction rates in cases of child abuse and infant death.

Molly Meighan

Molly Meighan is Professor Emerita serving as adjunct faculty in the Division of Nursing and Behavioral Health. She holds a BSN from East Tennessee State University. She earned the MSN in Maternal Child Health and a PhD in Nursing from The University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Molly worked as a staff nurse in Labor and Delivery before becoming a nurse manager. She was the Regional Perinatal Coordinator for the East Tennessee Region from 1977 – 1985, developing the high risk obstetrical transport program at the University of Tennessee Medical Center as well as educational programs for nurses in the East Tennessee area. She served as the Clinical Director of Pediatric and Obstetric Nursing at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville before coming to Carson-Newman in 1996. She taught Maternity and Pediatric Nursing in the Undergraduate Nursing Program and Accountability for Advanced Practice Nursing in the graduate program prior to retirement in 2004. Currently, she teaches Research Methods and Design Nursing and Accountability for Advanced Practice Nursing in the Graduate Nursing Program.

Angela Wood

Dr. Wood, who earned the PhD in Nursing from the University of Tennessee, joined the CN faculty in 1993. Her clinical specialty is maternal-infant nursing and she is certified as a High-Risk Perinatal Nurse and as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner. She is interested in Qualitative research and currently teaches the Undergraduate Research course. Married to her husband Sam, Dr. Wood has 2 adult children and one grandchild. She attends Monte Vista Baptist Church where she is the keyboardist. An avid costume designer and seamstress, Dr. Wood is the Costume Coordinator for the Appalachian Ballet Company.
