All students complete the common core curriculum and in addition select one of the tracks for their program emphasis.

Common Core Curriculum (20 hours):

  •  ASJ 510 Introduction to Social Justice & Community Development, 4 hours
  • ASJ 520 Social Justice: Historical & Public Policy Perspectives, 3 hours
  • ASJ 530 Global Poverty & Social Change, 3 hours
  • AJS 540 Rural Communities in Global Perspective, 3 hours
  • One of the following courses: REL 509 The Old Testament Foundations for Christian Life and Service; REL 510 The New Testament Foundations for Christian Life and Service; REL 515 Ethical Issues in the Twenty-First Century; or REL 521 Voices of the 20th Century Prophets; 3 hours
  • ASJ 600 Applied Social Justice Internship, 4 hours

Christian Community Development Track (12 hours)

  • ASJ 550 Community Research & Action, 3 hours
  • ASJ 560 Building Powerful Community Organizations, 3 hours
  • ASJ 570 Leading Sustainable Community Organizations, 3 hours
  • MCS 503 Personal Development & Holistic Mental Health, 3 hours

Social Entrepreneurship Track (12 hours)

  • ACCT 510 Accounting & Financial Management or ECON 530 Managerial Economics, 3 hours
  • MGT 525 Leadership, 3 hours
  • MGT 540 Organizational Behavior, 3 hours
  • MGT 590 Entrepreneurship, 3 hours
