Child and Family Studies and Early Childhood Education

  • Designed for studying human growth and development in the context of families and communities
  • Emphasis in Early Childhood Education prepares individuals for teacher licensure in pre-kindergarten through third grade
  • Also prepares for careers in childcare centers, community agencies, and church related programs
  • Individuals may apply to become a Certified Family Life Educator through the National Council on Family Relations ncfr.org

Majors have many opportunities to work with children during their studies in the on-campus Child Development Lab as well as off-campus sites in child care centers and public schools.
