  Coach Carter has been the Compliance Coordinator for 10 years and in this capacity helps ensure that Carson Newman student athletes adhere to institutional, conference and NCAA rules. He also teaches First Aid and Safety as well as Basic and Advanced Drivers Education courses. He recieved his B.S. in Physical Education from Carson newman College and M.S. in Education from the University of Tennessee. He maintains professional memberships in the NCAA, TAHPERD and women's basketball coaches association

  Prior to his present position he was the head women's basketball coach for 15 years during which time he was the South Atlantic Conference Coach of the Year for 1990, 1992, 1993, 1995 and 1998.

  He is happily married to his wife Vicki with whom has three sons, Tommy, Bryce and Ryan
