Molly Meighan is Professor Emerita serving as adjunct faculty in the Division of Nursing and Behavioral Health. She holds a BSN from East Tennessee State University. She earned the MSN in Maternal Child Health and a PhD in Nursing from The University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Molly worked as a staff nurse in Labor and Delivery before becoming a nurse manager. She was the Regional Perinatal Coordinator for the East Tennessee Region from 1977 – 1985, developing the high risk obstetrical transport program at the University of Tennessee Medical Center as well as educational programs for nurses in the East Tennessee area. She served as the Clinical Director of Pediatric and Obstetric Nursing at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville before coming to Carson-Newman in 1996. She taught Maternity and Pediatric Nursing in the Undergraduate Nursing Program and Accountability for Advanced Practice Nursing in the graduate program prior to retirement in 2004. Currently, she teaches Research Methods and Design Nursing and Accountability for Advanced Practice Nursing in the Graduate Nursing Program.
