  Mr. North began his position as staff accompanist at Carson-Newman University in the fall of 2005. He attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where he received his Bachelors in Piano Performance and has also done extensive work in studio jazz under the training of Donald Brown. Mr. North is the recipient of several music awards including 1st place winner of the 2000 High School Senior division in the Tennessee Music Teachers Association Piano Competition, winner of the MACCO Concerto Competition, and 2nd place winner in the University of Tennessee full tuition scholarship competition. In 1999, he was selected to attend the Governor's School for the Arts as a high school junior.
  
  He is a member of Mill Springs Baptist Church where he serves as pianist, and resides in Morristown, TN with his wife, Michelle.
