BS in Dietetics, Texas Tech UniversityDr. Johnson teaches Basic Nutrition, Science of Nutrition, Nutrition Education and the Community, Experimental Food Science, Food Service Management, Food Procurement, Production and Service and other foods related courses. She also co-advises the Student Dietetic Association and assist students in their Dietetic Externships.
Her areas of interest include sensory and textural analysis of foods, bakery, and nutritional concerns during each of the lifecycle. She has worked in pediatric nutrition as a clinical dietitian, mostly with diabetes, gastrointestinal, and food allergy/intolerance. She has also had positions in long-term care consulting and patient care food services for a large acute care hospital.
Dr. Johnson is a member of the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences and The American Dietetic Association and the local and state affiliate organizations
She enjoys spending time with her family, travel, and photography.

Mrs. Ann Jones is the Director of Voice Studies of Carson-Newman University, where she is the director of Women Singers and teaches applied voice. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance at Carson-Newman University, and holds a Master of Music in Vocal Pedagogy from Indiana University with some additional doctoral work in Vocal Pedagogy. In addition, Mrs. Jones has completed summer studies at Westminster College in Choral Conducting and further studies in Vocal Pedagogy at Oberlin Conservatory of Music and Belmont University.
Mrs. Jones has been recognized as a Distinquished Professor at Carson-Newman University. In addition to teaching, she is the chapter advisor for the international music fraternity Delta Omicron, Alpha Gamma Chapter at C-N. Under her direction, the Alpha Gamma Chapter has won the Chapter Excellence Award for over 40 consecutive years. She is a member of the national music groups: Pi Kappa Lambda Music Honors Fraternity, American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), Music Educators National Conference (MENC), East Tennessee Vocal Association, Professional Fraternity Association, Tennessee Music Educators Association (TMEA).
Mrs. Jones is a well-respected individual as she has presented vocal solos all through-out the South and Southeast since 1965, including the Knoxville Choral Society having also served as president and as a vocal soloist for the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra. She is a frequent clinician and presents master classes for the Knoxville Music Teachers Association at several colleges and universities in the South. She has also served as adjudicator for NATS.

Dr. Jones joined the faculty at Carson-Newman in 2008. She teaches Introduction to the Old Testament, Carson-Newman and the Liberal Arts, and a variety of Old Testament electives. As a member of First Baptist Church Jefferson City, Dr. Jones currently teaches children’s Sunday school and Mission Friends. In the past, she served on staff at churches in Arkansas and Texas in the areas of children and youth ministry. She occasionally provides pulpit supply for churches in East Tennessee. Originally from Arkansas, Dr. Jones now lives in Jefferson City with her husband and two daughters. She enjoys reading, baking sweet treats, watching her daughters participate in softball and swimming, and spending time with her family.
