Dr. B.J. Ellington joined Carson-Newman College in 2004. She is an Associate Professor of Nursing in the MSN, Family Nurse Practitioner Program. She earned her BSN from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, MSN/FNP from Vanderbilt University, and DNP in Forensic Nursing from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Her practice experiences as a nurse practitioner include rural health, inner-city health, private practice, AIDS Vaccine research, and HIV/AIDS patient care. As an Advanced Practice Forensic Nurse, she has worked with law enforcement, the District Attorney General’s Office, and the Office of the State Medical Examiner investigating cases involving human injury and death. Research interests include sequelae to childhood sexual abuse manifested in adult survivors – primarily dissociative identity disorder (DID), child/infant death investigation, and protocol development to enhance conviction rates in cases of child abuse and infant death.

Jeremy Elmore is serving in his third year as the Residence Life Coordinator for Appalachian Commons & Butler Hall. Prior to working with Carson-Newman College, Jeremy worked at Campbellsville University where he taught English as a second language to international students. His educational background includes a Bachelor’s of Science in Educational Ministries, with minors in Theater Arts and Athletic Coaching. Jeremy enjoys spending time with his family, hanging with students, and playing Ultimate frisbee whenever he can.
