The Hannah Hylton Pederson Nursing Building was renovated for nursing in 1987.  In 1991, a gift from Colonel Robert W. Pederson was designated to name the building in honor of his wife, a retired registered nurse who founded an advisory council for the Carson-Newman nursing program.  The 6,100 square foot building includes faculty offices, classrooms, a conference room, and clinical skills laboratory.  Nursing administrative offices, some nursing faculty offices, and a skills laboratory are located in the connecting Heritage Hall.
