Tennessee Promise

Tennessee students in the Associate Degree Programs at Carson-Newman can participate in the Tennessee Promise program, which could provide with them with extra funding for college during their Associate Degree, will connect them with a mentor, and will help keep them on track to earning and Associate and later a Bachelor’s degree.  The Tennessee Promise Scholarship is a last dollar program in which the amount of scholarship depends on the number of credit hours in which a student is enrolled and whether the student has other federal and/or state aid eligibility.  Contact the Financial Aid Office with any questions about your TN Promise eligibility.

Carson-Newman Offers the Following Associate Degrees:

Associate of Arts in Liberal Studies
Associate of Arts in Christian Ministries
Associate of Arts in Photography
Associate of Science in Computer Science
Associate of Science in General Studies

You’ll be advised by your major department and will have the opportunity to earn the associate degree on the way to your Bachelors.

Students who participate in the Tennessee Promise program and successfully complete an associate degree at Carson-Newman or at a Tennessee Community College may qualify for the Carson-Newman Promise Scholarship toward a bachelor degree for their junior and senior years.  Carson-Newman Promise is a $2,000 per academic year scholarship and requires a minimum of 2.5 GPA to maintain eligibility.
