How did you come to Carson-Newman?

I came to Carson-Newman because of the feeling of home that I feel here. It’s a place that is its own community. Everyone cares about everyone else. It is also such a Christian atmosphere. It was what I was looking for in a college.

What is your favorite experience as an RA?

My favorite experience as an RA has been just hanging out with all the staff. It’s so much fun to get everyone together and just laugh and joke around.

How did you come to Carson-Newman?

I was introduced to Carson-Newman through my family. My parents and I really wanted me to go to a school with high Christian Values. During my senior year in high school, I got the opportunity to stay on night in the dorms with a current student. As soon as I arrived I quickly made friends to the guys I meet. These were literally the friendliest people I have ever meet and it wasn’t long till I felt at home. The friendliness and hospitality of the students I met is exactly why I decided to come to Carson-Newman. I knew that I was accepted into this place and that I wanted to be part of the Carson-Newman family.

What is your favorite experience as an RA?

I would have to say that some of my favorite experiences have been hanging out with my residents. During my first year as a RA, I got my residents to play in a floor hockey tournament. Even though we weren’t very good and didn’t make it far in the tournament, it seemed that everyone really had a great time participating. After that event, I just really felt like I had a great connection with my residents, some of whom I’m friends with still today.

How did you come to Carson-Newman?

By car. No just kidding but seriously, I came to Carson Newman because I was immediately drawn to the atmosphere and geography of this campus. I feel like after being here for 3 ½ years God has put me in the right place at the right time and I am thankful for that blessing.

What is your favorite experience as an RA?

My favorite experience as an RA so far has to be influencing what the people on my hall are doing. By that, I mean I like to set the example of being a respectful hallmate.

How did you come to Carson-Newman?

After visiting several colleges, I finally paid a visit to Carson-Newman on a showcase Saturday. After this, I felt the need for a second visit, which then led to a third. I honestly cannot explain what initially drew me to this campus but once I was here I immediately knew that this was where I needed to be. I do not think that I could find better friends that have become part of my life, or better professors that have helped me in so many ways and genuinely do seem to care. Carson-Newman just seemed to be the place for me.

What is your favorite experience as an RA?

As an RA, I love being the person that people come to with questions or needs about so many things. And while this can sometimes seem like a burden, I have enjoyed it because it has made me realize that they see me as someone who is experienced in the ways that this college operates and that I am in fact a representative of the college itself. And as always there are plenty of things that I unfortunately do not know yet, but I love being able to give it my best and help in the lives of others any way I can.

Name: Cody Loggins

Major: Business Administration

Hometown: Brentwood, TN

Interests/Hobbies: Soccer, Ultimate Frisbee, Snowboarding, and basically anything that gets me outside doing something active.

How did you come to Carson-Newman?

I came to Carson-Newman because of the soccer program, and freshman year I walked onto them team. Unfortunately after one season I figured out that soccer was not for me in college so I left after only one year. Now I’m a full time student, and an intramural athlete.

What is your favorite experience as an RA?

My favorite experience as a RA is being able to develop relationships with my residents. I am meeting people that I would have never thought I would be friends with, and I’m just having a great time with this.
