RECREATIONAL SERVICES TRIPS – SPRING 2017

 The Recreational Services Council has the following trips planned for the spring of 2017. This is your personal invitation from the council to join the fun!  Final registration may be made in the Rec. Services Office - MSAC room 1014 along with payment as required per trip.  On-line pre-registration available at: CN.edu.  Go to Student Affairs & then click on Rec. Services

 TOPJUMP (trampoline park) - Friday, January 20, 8:30pm – 9:30pm, Sevierville -

Want to fly high, flip into an airbag, or dunk like Jordan?  Sevier County’s first trampoline park offers a safe and extreme adventure for people of all ages.  TopJump features all the traditional trampoline park attractions and has the nation’s first sky-high climbing adventure, Clip ’n Climb.  The park also includes a HUGE arcade, Sugar Rush Candy Store, and a place to relax and see the whole park called TopView.  Get ready for some jumping, leaping and somersaulting fun! Trip capacity:20 persons. Transportation on 2 vans. Leave C-N: 7:30pm and return about 10:30pm. Regular price = $20.00. Your cost is only $9.00 including transportation.

 “BREAKOUT KNOXVILLE” – Tuesday, January 31 – 7:30pm – 8:30pm, Knoxville

Each Breakout Game is a real‑life escape room adventure for a small groups. Work together as a team to escape the room before time runs out. You'll solve puzzles, crack codes, find hidden items, and more in order to escape. You have one goal: escape the room in under one hour.  CNU groups will solve one of the following “breakouts”: Kidnapping, Museum Heist, Casino Royale or Island Escape.Trip capacity 16 persons (2 groups).  Transportation in 2 vans.  Leave CN at 6:30pm and return about 9:30pm.  Regular price = $22.00.  Your cost is only $10.00 including transportation!

SNOW-SKIING – Saturday, February 11 – 1:00pm – 8:00pm, Wolf Ridge, NC

Enjoy the best of winter with an afternoon and evening of skiing or snowboarding at Wolf Ridge Resort in North Carolina. Trip capacity 20 persons.  Transportation in 2 vans.  Leave CN at 10:00am and return approximately 11:00pm.  Drive time to resort is about 2 hours.  You are responsible for bringing or purchasing your own meals.  Normal Snow-ski lift ticket & equipment rental = $60.00.  Your cost = $35.00.  Normal snowboard lift ticket & board rental = $74.00.  Your cost = $49.00.  (Rate is less if you have your own equipment).  Your cost includes transportation.

 INDOOR ROCK-CLIMBING – Monday, February 20 – 6:45pm – 9:45pm, Onsight Rock Gym – Knoxville- Experience Knoxville’s newest and largest rock-climbing gym featuring over 12,000 square feet of climbing wall surface with walls soaring over 50 feet tall, professionally designed and built by Walltopia, the world's leading climbing wall producer, and diverse climbing terrain including top roping, lead climbing, and bouldering for all ages and abilities.  For beginners or experienced climbers.  Trip capacity 20 persons. Transportation in 2 vans.  Leave CN at 6:00pm and return about 10:30pm. Normal cost = $15.00.  Your cost including transportation = $5.00.

 HIKE – Saturday, March 25 – 10:30am – 3:00pm – Ramsey Cascades, Great Smokies 

Ramsey Cascades is the tallest waterfall in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and one of the most spectacular. Water drops 100 feet over rock outcroppings and collects in a small pool. The trail to the waterfall gains over 2,000' in elevation over its 4 mile course and the 8-mile round trip hike is considered strenuous in difficulty. Students attempting this hike should be in good physical condition and have some hiking experience. Round trip hiking time is estimated to be 4.5 hours. Leave campus at 9:00am and return to campus at approximately 5:00pm.  Trip is FREE to students including transportation.  Participants must bring their lunch.  Trip capacity = 20

BIKE TRIP - CREEPER TRAIL - Saturday, April 8, 12:30pm - 3:00pm, Damascus, VA –

 Ride the famous and gorgeous Virginia Creeper Trail. This 17 mile journey has beautiful mountain views, passes through pristine forests, crosses clear streams and generally brings peace to the soul! The ride is easy, mostly downhill, and well worth the effort. Bike rentals are available for those without a bike. Trip capacity 20 persons. Transportation on 2 vans. Leave C-N at 9:00am and return about 5:30pm. We will be eating lunch at Damascus about 11:15am. Participants are responsible for buying their lunch. Regular price (including bike rental and shuttle service) =$27.00. Your cost is only $13.00 + lunch ($8.00 + lunch if you bring your own bike)
