Intramurals

Carson-Newman has an excellent intramural program that has consistently been rated among the top three programs offered at the University (according to the graduating senior survey). Approximately 40 events are offered annually for student participation.

Variety is a key component of the of the Intramural program. The goal is to provide “something for everyone” during the course of a year. Activities are designed to include the athletically inclined student and the non-athlete. Events range from basketball, flag football, ultimate Frisbee, volleyball, softball and soccer to ping pong, racquetball, badminton, “Family Feud”, “spades” and hiking in the Smokies.

Several employment and leadership development opportunities are available to students through intramurals. Student directors, officials, intramural supervisors and a field crew are all a part of the intramural staff.

The intramural “Champion T-Shirt”, presented to intramural event winners, is one of the most “coveted” prizes on campus.
