Currently we offer two different Eagle Excursions for incoming students. Both trips are 3 days and 2 nights in the outdoors. The Eagle Excursion program works with first year students to develop leadership skills and show opportunities for student leadership on Carson-Newman's Campus. Students will participate in B.O.L.D. (Basics Of Leadership Development) training. It is experiential learning at its best for leadership development.
Eagle Excursions take place the week before Orientation begins.
On this excursion you will hike the Greenbriar section along the Old Settlers Trail. Along the way you will participate in B.O.L.D. The hike totals 21 miles and is considered moderate. No previous backpacking experience is necessary. You should be moderately fit for this excursion.
