ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF VOICE

Carson-Newman University invites applicants for an Assistant Professor of Voice in the Department of Music. This is a full-time, tenure-track position in Applied Voice to begin August 2017. Responsibilities include teaching voice, and some combination of supervising and operating the new vocal laboratory and directing the opera/musical theater program. Successful studio teaching and performing is essential.
Teaching voice-related classes and/or directing a choral ensemble may be added as the teaching load allows. The successful candidate will be expected to develop quality relationships with area musicians and perform advising, recruiting, and committee responsibilities as needed by the University. A Doctorate is preferred, but Master’s level qualifications may be considered. Some preference will be given to bass or baritone applicants.
The rank and salary will be commensurate with educational preparation and experience. This position is projected to receive a nine-month contract. Group health insurance as well as a 401K retirement plan are available on a participating basis.
