ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF COMPUTER SCIENCE
The Computer Science program at Carson-Newman University invites applications from qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Professor of Computer Science and/or Mathematics. This is a full-time, tenure-track position to begin August 2018. Carson-Newman employs faculty and staff who are actively supportive, through a local church, of its aim as a university with a Christian commitment.

The Computer Science program is part of the Department of Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics and offers a BS degree in Computer Science. It is a relatively new and growing program with two tracks: Traditional/Theoretical Computer Science and Applied/Management Computer Science.
The main responsibility of this position is the instruction of students in Computer Science courses and advising of Computer Science majors. The position may also involve instruction in selected Mathematics courses. Candidates should have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and research. Strongest consideration will be given to applicants who provide evidence of potential in teaching excellence. A terminal degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
The rank and salary will be commensurate with educational preparation and experience. Group life and health insurance as well as a 401K retirement plan are available on a participating basis.
