Carson-Newman University invites applicants for Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry. The position is a full time, tenure-track position in Chemistry to begin August 2014.
Candidates for the position must have a Ph.D. in chemistry; additional post-doctoral or industrial experience is desired. Candidates should have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and research. Preference will be given to candidates with research interests in biophysical or physical chemistry; applicants with research interests bridging physical, inorganic, and/or biochemistry are especially encouraged to apply. Candidates with experience or interest in innovative pedagogy will be viewed positively.
The successful candidate will teach physical, inorganic, general, and non-majors chemistry courses. In addition, the optimal candidate will develop an ongoing undergraduate research program in physical or inorganic chemistry that is compatible with our existing biochemical and analytical research programs.
