Carson-Newman University invites applicants for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Education in the Department of Education & Counseling. The position is Full-Time, 9-Month, Tenure-Track to begin August 2017.
Candidates for the position must have an Ed.D or Ph.D, and preference will be given to individuals who have documented teaching experience in P-12 settings, preferably in social studies, as well as excellent communication skills and active listening skills. The successful candidate will possess an ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously, willingness to collaborate with campus and P-12 colleagues in the preparation of candidates for P-12 settings, and the ability to teach social studies methods. Preference will be given to someone who has experience working in an on-line instructional setting at the university level and an ongoing research agenda.

Candidates for the position Assistant or Associate Professor of Education will work collaboratively to prepare undergraduate and graduate students for teaching positions in P-12 settings; demonstrate a record of willingness to engage in scholarly research; teach courses both on ground and online; and serve as an effective member of the department, campus, and local community.
The rank and salary will be commensurate with educational preparation and experience. Group health insurance as well as a 401K retirement plan are available on a participating basis.
