The fall application period closed September 6th.
The purpose of the Carson-Newman student employment program is to provide students an opportunity to earn money to assist with educational expenses. Carson-Newman employes over 500 students during the academic year.
Students who are awarded student employment (FWS) for the 13-14 academic year, or wish to apply for a position this year must complete the Student Employment Application, and respond to any requests from hiring supervisors for job interviews or follow-up phone calls. Being awarded student employment (FWS) gives you priority to postions available on campus, but does not secure an available position. Students will still have to meet interview expectations of hiring supervisors. All applications are made available electronically to hiring supervisors through the Eagle Net during the year to facilitate the hiring process.
All policies and procedures can be easily obtained by reviewing the Student Employment Handbook. Current student employees that wish to change your position should consult the Student Employment Handbook for procedures to follow. For a listing of departments and job descriptions, please click here (MS Excel Version). To avoid delays when completing the Student Employment Application please use the exact department name and job title. Not all jobs are vacant each year, so you may not be placed in the area that you request.
Once you have been hired (completed hiring agreement with all signatures) for an on-campus position the following documents must be read and completed prior to your first day of employment:
You must also submit the following two forms of ID:
- U.S. Social Security Card / Valid work visa information if international student
- U.S. Driver's License
