Women of Vision to host dinner, antique appraisal event
(April 9, 2014)– Carson-Newman University’s Women of Vision will hold a dinner and antique appraisal Friday, April 25. The “Spring Treasures” fundraiser will be held at First Baptist Church Dandridge and feature Knoxville’s Case Antiques as the event’s appraiser.
Case Antiques has served as a source for appraisals throughout Tennessee and as appraiser for East Tennessee Public Television.
“We are very excited to invite the community to join us for what we’re sure will be a fun evening,” said Kay O’Brien, chair of the University’s Women of Vision organization and First Lady of Carson-Newman. “It’s a perfect opportunity to discover the worth of a family heirloom, a prized possession, memorabilia, or just an item of curiosity. As entertaining as this is going to be, the best part is that it goes to benefit the students at Carson-Newman.”
Along with appraisals, guests will have the opportunity to take part in a silent and live auction. Featured items include:
Four rounds of golf at Patriot Hills Golf Club, a charcoal portrait valued at $1000, a guided fishing trip on Cherokee Lake, Ripley’s Aquarium tickets, horsemanship lessons, interior design consulting, jewelry, and a week getaway to a luxury condo on Hilton Head Island.
Carson-Newman’s Women of Vision is an active philanthropic organization on campus that seeks to enhance areas of the University that benefit students and the college experience. The group has not only raised money for various campus initiatives, but has also volunteered time to help with their completion. Such projects have included renovation of several residence halls and study areas, the addition of a Fireside Reading Room in the University’s library, refurbishment of C-N’s International Guest House and the establishment of student scholarships.
Antique appraisals and silent auction begin at 5 p.m. with dinner and live auction beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets for the event are $50, which is tax-deductible. Guests who purchase tickets will have the opportunity to have items appraised by Case Antiques at $10 apiece.
The cost of this event is $50 per ticket. There are 8 seats available per table.
